Transitioning Your Wardrobe From Winter to Spring

Even though Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, winter is officially over. It is time to put away heavy winter coats to make room for spring dresses and skirts.

Here are my tips for transitioning your wardrobe from the winter to the spring.

Bright Colors and Prints

Over the winter, you will find me dressed in black almost everyday. One easy thing to do to start transitioning your wardrobe to spring is to incorporate brighter colors into your outfits: yellows, purples, and pastels. Anything goes!

Tights

Since we had a cold winter, it may take a while for the weather to warm up. If you opt for dresses, do not go barelegged just yet. Wearing either sheer or opaque tights will allow you to expose your legs and stay warm.

Layering

Incorporating layers into your outfit is another good way to stay warm. In the spring, I recommend wearing a light jacket with a thin cardigan or shirt underneath. That way, you can add and remove layers for your comfort.

Accessorizing (Scarves, Jewelry etc.)

I love choosing accessories to go along with my outfits. I can guarantee that you will find me wearing a scarf almost everyday. Incorporating colorful scarves and bags adds an immediate pick me up to a look. If you like to wear jewelry, you can also add rings, bracelets and necklaces.

Tall Boots to Short Boots and Flats

The winter may be over, but you do not have to pack up all your boots. Spring is the perfect time to wear short boots, flats, and sneakers. You can find bright and colorful shoes or wear cute socks underneath your booties. I usually wear my Toms, Supergas, or short Frye boots.

Umbrellas

You might want to invest in a trendy umbrella that can fit into your bag. You never know when it is going to rain, so it is good to be prepared.

Here are four outfits I would wear in the spring. Hopefully they can give you inspiration for some more spring looks!
